Mini Target Book Haul- June 2020

After months of self quarantining and avoiding unnecessary travel, I went to Target to buy a book and some other items I cannot find at any other store. While I shopped for the book I wanted, I found two other books I wanted to pick up.The first book I purchased is The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins…

I waited for this book to come out all through out the month of April. My friends of mine they liked this book (They bought their books before me and read faster than me) so I’m looking forward to reading it.

The second book I purchased is Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli…

I heard of this book but never read it or saw it at any Target or Walmart near me. When I saw it at Target, I remembered it was a book I wanted to read so I bought it.

The last book I purchased is Loki Where Mischief Lies by MacKenzi Lee…

Out of all three books I bought, this is the only book I’m not sure of. I’m a Thor fan and Loki is my favorite villain. When I saw this book would be released, I was excited. When it was released and people began to review the book, I became worried about it. My friends, who already owned this book and read it, didn’t like several parts about it (Plot, pacing, inaccuracies of the history of the time period the book took place in, ect.) and they advised me not to by it but borrow their book.

When I saw the book for sale at Target, I felt torn. I read some of my friend’s book when I saw them last and didn’t like it. So, borrowing my friend’s book was a much better option for me. The problems are my friend lives quite a distance away, we needed to self quarantine during the month of May, resulting in us not being able to see each other in person, and all our mutual friends are on a wait list to borrow the book and read it themselves. Since I figure it may be late June until I can borrow my friend’s book, I decided to buy a copy for myself just in case it takes one of our friends longer to read the book and cannot return it on time.

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
