Gradchanted by Morgan Matson Book Review

Around this time last year, Gradchanted was published. It is the second book in the book collaboration between young adult author Morgan Matson and Disney.

When it was published, I debated if I should purchase it. Although I have some praiseworthy things to say about the first book in the collaboration between Morgan and Disney, I didn’t like it a lot. After thinking about it for a while, I decided to purchase it to see how I’d like it. Since that time, I have read and reread the book a few times and decided to share some of my opinions in this review. I already reviewed Promchanted, the first book in the collaboration. Promchanted by Morgan Matson Book Review

In 2024, a new book written by Morgan Matson was published. The difference between this book and her previous books was this book was published by Disney and is inspired by Disneyland and Disney’s movie, Sleeping Beauty.

The book, called Promchanted, was a book I was very curious about. I didn’t know if I would like it or not, but I decided to purchase a copy of the book and read it.

Since then, a second book was published, Gradchanted also by Morgan Matson. I also purchased and read that book, but, since Promchanted was published first, I decided to write a review about Promchanted before Gradchanted.

Book Review: The Ballad of Darcy and Russell by Morgan Matson

I’ve been a fan of Morgan Matson’s books for years. Every time I find out a new book is released, I’m really excited to read it. When I found out there wasn’t one new Morgan Matson book but two going to be released in 2024, I was really excited! The first one is called Promchanted and is published by Disney Hyperion. The second is The Ballad of Darcy & Russell and is published by Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers.

I purchased both books, but the book I decided to read first is the Ballad of Darcy and Russell. I had some time to sit down and read it in May, so I dedicated a weekend and a couple of weekdays to reading it and write a review post about it. After reading it, I didn’t feel ready to write a review about it. After reading reviews of the book on Amazon, I felt like I was in the minority about my opinions about this book. It is different than other books Morgan has wrote, and it isn’t one I enjoyed.

Since I felt my opinions about the book is contradictory to what the reviews on Amazon said, I decided to delay publishing my review post for a month or so. I hopefully gave enough time to allow others write reviews online (And on Amazon) before anyone reads my own.

Books I Read in May 2024 (And What I Think of Them)

May was both a great and not so great month. Among the setbacks and problems, I had quite a bit of time to sit down and read. This was a great thing because I haven’t had so much time and/or the mindset to read, in such a long time!

I was able to read more than five books in May. After some consideration, I decided to talk about four of them in a post. I didn’t finish reading all the books mentioned in this post, but I did read them and have opinions about them.

Last year, a new book by Morgan Matson was published. I read Morgan Matson’s books before and really enjoyed them.
