In one of my Ulta Beauty haul posts from November 2024, I mentioned I purchased a Mini Brands x Ulta Beauty ball. You can read that post here. While writing the post, I thought talking about the ball would make a great post topic. Mini Brands are not everyone’s cup of tea, so I won’t be talking about other Mini Brands balls I own. Yet, I still wanted to talk about the Ulta Beauty version and what I plan on doing with it and all my other Mini Brands ball contents I own.
This is what the ball looked like before I opened it…
Each ball costs $9.99 USD.
A selection of mini products the balls could come with were pictured on one of the sides of the ball…
If you are unfamiliar with Mini Brands balls, they are balls that come with different mini versions of items or products. These products are what I would consider the size for a Barbie doll and the products are normally tied in with real life brands. Sometimes the balls have a theme, such as books, sneakers, accessories, or food. Others are tie-ins with movies and TV Shows. There are also Mini Brands that collaborate with stores, which is what this ball is a part of.
Nobody can choose what they get inside the ball. Instead, it a luck of the draw.
As for my ball, here are the five products included in my ball…
The minis I got are (From left to right) Redken One United, ELF Halo Glow, Truly Glazed Donut After Shave Oil, Nyx Epice Ink Liner, and OPI Nail Lacquer.
I was hoping for other items in my ball, but I am happy with the selection anyway. Especially the mini bottle of OPI nail lacquer. I was hoping to get one in pink, but I’m happy to have one period.
Mini brands is not the kind of toy I don’t like to buy or purchase as an adult. Since I discovered them, I have debated if they would be good for older girls that still play with Barbies or adults only. I don’t like how it is a luck of the pick or how likely it is to get the mini versions of the products someone wants to own. This, and their price, is why I don’t really like them. So, why do I collect them?
It’s because I want to make Christmas tree ornaments using the minis!
I had an idea to use whatever I get in these balls to make ornaments. My idea is to use clear ball ornaments that can be opened and filled with photos, glitter, or anything anyone wants in the ornaments. I want to use these ball ornaments to put the contents of my Mini Balls into, thus creating an ornament. It is part of a bigger idea for a themed Christmas tree I had as a teenager. I wanted to decorate a tree inspired by the song Santa Baby. Since then, I began to add whatever I feel would fit into the theme, including materialistic items such as makeup and fashion items. The Mini Brands usually have items I want to add to my tree, including makeup.
So far I have multiple balls with mini products, but not enough clear ornaments to use all the Mini Brands balls I own. So, progress has completely stopped on the ornament creation. Despite this, I still like to browse the clearance section of Walmart and other stores to see if I can find Mini Brands for a more affordable price.
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
