LoveShackFancy x Pottery Barn Teen Steel Water Bottle Review

If you are a fan of shabby chic and feminine fashion and decor, then you have probably heard of LoveShackFancy. LoveShackFancy is a clothing and lifestyle brand that features feminine styles and patterns. Even though the brand is known for the high priced clothing, LoveShackFancy has collaborated with different brands. These brands include Kendra Scott, Target, and Stanley. Even though I love the brand and their collaborations, the one that caught my eye the most is their collaboration with Pottery Barn Teen.

I am person that lives a lifestyle that requires me to dress in a less feminine fashion due to practicality. Because of this, I love to decorate my home with items that exhibit something I want to wear but can’t. This is why the Pottery Barn Teen x LoveShackFancy collection is something I am drawn to.

After browsing, and dwelling, on the large amount of items in the collection, I decided to purchase a water bottle from the collection. After receiving the bottle and used it for weeks, I wanted to talk about my thoughts about bottle.

The bottle is called Pink Floral Ribbon Slim Water Bottle. It can be purchased by itself or as part of a set with the matching backpack. When I purchased this bottle, it was on sale. The matching backpack was sold out. As of the writing of this post, the water bottle is also sold out. Even though this design is sold out, the same style of water bottle is still available at the Pottery Barn Teen in different designs, including three newer designs from the LoveShackFancy collection.

After using the water bottle for a few weeks, I have begun to realize some pros and cons.

The pros are…

1. Cute design
2. Keeps cold liquid cold and warm drinks warm for hours (And keeps drinks cold without ice cubes)
3. Lid is attached to the bottle, making it hard to lose
4. Slim enough to fit into cup holders
5. All metal throughout the bottle

And the cons are…

1. The wide mouth of the bottle is hard to drink out of and can allow liquid to spill
2. The attached lid makes it hard to drink without positioning the bottle or shifting the lid to be at a certain angle. This could cause the lid to flop up and hit you in the face.
3. All metal design retains heat from the outside air. This makes it hard to drink or hold when the bottle has sat in the heat for too long.

Overall, I like this water bottle. It is small enough for me to carry with me and can fit into the cup holders in my vehicle. It keeps my water at a cool enough temperature for me to enjoy. That said, I don’t like the water bottle enough to use it as an all round water bottle. I live in a hot climate where the summers are very hot. Leaving a metal water bottle in my vehicle will cause it to heat up, just like everything else in my vehicle. Knowing this, I choose water bottles to use carefully based off their ability to stay cool enough to the touch or has some sort of a way for me to handle it without touching the metal parts. This water bottle has that, but the lid is metal and it could burn my hand if I let it sit out in the heat too long before I try to open it. Same thing goes for the lip of the bottle. It is made out of metal and can become too hot to drink directly from if it is too hot.

So, do I think the water bottle is a good water bottle to own?

To be honest, I believe it depends on where you live and what you plan on using it for. I like the way it looks a lot and think it would be a good water bottle to use if you want to use it indoors. I also can see it used as a way to keep soup warm or another liquid at a certain temperature during a picnic. Just make sure the picnic is on a day when the temperature is nice enough to keep metal from becoming too hot to the touch.
