Small Purses and Trying to Find The Perfect One
For the past few months, I have been on the search for a new bag. My current bag, a backpack, works really well. I also have no plans on getting rid of it. Yet, earlier this year, I realized something that I knew would come to my area one day, and it has.
While walking into a local Walmart in early January, I realized there was a new sign posted outside the front door. It said no backpacks or duffle bags would be allowed inside the Walmart. The area, and the Walmart, has had problems with theft in the past. Even though it bothered me to live and shop near an area where shoplifting in the past, I didn’t know what to do except move. Yet, seeing the sign made me know even more that this area is not the area where I want to live in.
After that wore off, I began to wonder how serious they are about backpacks. After all, I was walking into Walmart with a backpack purse on my back!
That’s when I decided it was time to find myself a new bag. Even though my backpack has life still left in it, I knew more and more places wouldn’t like someone walking into a store with a large bag. I already can’t go to a local high school’s sport events without a smaller or see through bag. I’m sure there are other places that will require this as time goes on. This is why I knew I would need find myself a smaller bag.
Finding a smaller bag isn’t easy. I do carry a lot of thing which I think I could remove from my bag to lighten it, yet I keep them in the event of an emergency. If I lived in a cooler climate, I would store them inside my vehicle. They don’t require a certain room temperature to store them, so keeping them in a vehicle isn’t a bad idea. The only drawback is in the summertime. Here in Arizona, temperatures are very high and vehicles will become even hotter than it is outside. This is why I carry everything I would normally store in my vehicle, things such as pens, lip sticks, lip balms, and hand sanitizer, inside my purse. That way, in the case of my lip sticks and lip balms, they won’t melt.
Finding a smaller bag is hard, but not impossible. I already own smaller bags that are inspired by Y2K era bags, but they are way too small for me to use everyday! I usually use them when I need to go somewhere where only small bags are allowed in. Instead, I want something else. Something that is bigger than my smaller bags, but aren’t as large as my backpack. And certainly not a backpack style anything!
So far I came up with a few potential candidates. Some are not from high end brands (Kohl’s, Walmart, Target) while others are from higher priced brands, but are not officially luxury brands. (Kate Spade New York, Polo Ralph Lauren, Coach, Frye) Right now there are a lot of sale on bags I am interested in buying, so I may get to save some money on my new bag!
Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
