Saying Goodbye to My Closet Bed, Bath, and Beyond Store

A few months ago, I discovered my closet Bed, Bath, and Beyond store is closing. When it was in it’s last days open, I did some store closing shopping and got a few items I needed. Despite this, seeing the store close made me sad. The store is special to me because I have many memories of my friends and I shopping there for our first apartments and wedding registry lists for people we knew. I remember walking up and down the aisles with my friends, talking about what we’d ask on our wedding registry if we did get married and what we’d put in our homes if we had an endless supply of money.

Even though I’m sad to see it go, I’m not that surprised. After the pandemic, things have changed in the shopping mall where the store used to be located at. It was only a matter of time until it closed down. Still, it stuck around much longer than I thought it would.

In honor of the store I used to browse, and sometimes shopped at, I wanted to show photographs I took of what it looked like when it was still open and what it looks like now that is closed.

Here is what the store looks like when it closed…

I don’t know what anyone expected when it comes to my photographs, but this is all I have of the store. I planned to take photographs of the store in its final days or after the store closed with the sign still up, but I missed taking a photograph of the store in its final days. Also, the store sign was taken down two days after the store closed. I was very surprised the sign was taken down so fast. Usually the signs stay up longer than a few days before they are taken down.

So, that’s it for the store. There are other Bed, Bath, and Beyond stores in Arizona, but it will take me more time to travel to it than this one. Now I wonder which store will close down in the mall next. It makes me sad to say that, but to be honest, many of the stores that used to be located in the mall when it was open have either closed or do not carry as many items to purchase anymore. There are still places to shop, but to be honest, it’s no longer a place I can shop at and find everything I need. I need to travel to other towns and cities to find what I’m looking for. I could argue this is because of the shipping and supply chain problems, but I had problems finding what I need there prior to the pandemic. So, it’s just bitter sweet to see the mall loose another store, even if Bed, Bath, and Beyond has been closing stores for years now.

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
