Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost and Hydro Boost Extra Dry Skin Gel-Cream Comparison

After seeing how similar Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost and Hydro Boost Extra Dry Skin Gel creams, I decided to write a post about the two creams and how different they are. Also, I wanted to talk about which one I like the most and why. Here are the two Hydro Boost creams side by side…

Both jar of cream look exactly the same except the extra dry skin version has a different label.

Although the differences between the two jars are not very obvious and clear by just looking at them at a glance, the differences between the two creams become obvious once the jars are open. The extra dry skin version has a milky white cream…

While the original version has a cream with a light blue color…

Since the cream in the jar of the original version was running low, I decided to take a photograph of a swatch of the cream in the inside top of the jar…

Other differences between the two creams are the scent and thickness of the creams. The original cream is not as thick as the extra dry cream and there is a scent while the extra dry cream does not. Also, the extra dry cream has olive extract and is dye-free. And finally, the creams contain different amounts of hyaluronic acid, with the extra dry skin cream containing more than the original.

Overall, I enjoy using the extra dry cream more than the original cream. I like it because it is scentless and is very effective against all the dry spots I use it on. I don’t use it on my face because of a temporary sensitive skin problem, but I do use it on parts of my body. Because of my sensitive skin, I’m unsure how well this cream will work on the face or on normal skin. Despite this, I believe this cream would be worth a try for anyone who likes the results of the original Hydro Boost but feels like they need some additional hydration in areas of their skin. I still plan to use the original cream on parts of my skin that are not extremely dry, but I’m happy to add the extra dry skin cream to my skin care.

Well, that’s about it! Thank you for reading!
