Top Five Towns I Would Love to Travel to in Arizona

It’s the day after Mermorial day, which means it’s summer travel season! Summertime is the time to travel and, even though I won’t be traveling anywhere (Subject to change), I think about where I would like to travel to if I knew I would be going somewhere. One of the trips I would like to go on is a road trip around Arizona. I’m a life long Arizonan, but there are so many places in Arizona I never traveled to or traveled to when I was a kid. Because of this, I wanted to share my top five the places I would like to travel to in Arizona.

Bisbee

The first place I would like to travel to is Bisbee, Arizona. Bisbee is a former copper mining town located in Southeast Arizona. In the Queen Mine, a closed copper mine, offers tours as well as teaches about the mining history in Arizona. The town also has museums about Bisbee’s mining past as well as historical buildings. That, in addition to the beautiful mountain views, make it a town I would like to visit.

Winslow

I heard about Winslow is since I was a child, and, as I grew up, I became more and more interested in visiting the town. Route 66 goes through Winslow and there is a park called Standing on the Corner Park, which commemorates Winslow’s mention in the Eagle’s/Jackson Browne song “Take it Easy”. Winslow is also within driving distance of Meteor Crater, Petrified Forest, and the Painted Desert. And finally, the La Posada Hotel, a Harvey House that is restored and now serves as hotel is in Winslow. Because of this, and a few other reasons I will not mention, I really want to go to Winslow, Arizona!

Tombstone

The next town I would like to go to is Tombstone. Tombstone is known for the shootout at the Ok Coral, and they do have a reenactment of the shootout you can watch, but that’s not the only reason why I want to go. There are buildings still standing from the time of the shootout as well as small business in the area that I would like to shop. Although I don’t have a specific reason to visit Tombstone, it is a town that interested me ever since I was in high school. My high school used to play football against Tombstone high school and, ever since then I wanted to see the town.

Flagstaff

I went to Flagstaff before, but it was when I was a child on a family trip. Also, my family drove through Flagstaff on the way to the Grand Canyon and didn’t stop and sight see. I still remember how interested I was in Flagstaff and wished my family stopped for a while and did a little bit of sight seeing. Because of this, I think Flagstaff is my number one town in Arizona I would like to travel to.

Prescott

The last place I would like to travel to is Prescott. Like Flagstaff, I went to Prescott before (In fact, I went to Prescott on the same trip I went to Flagstaff!), but I stayed in Prescott longer than Flagstaff. I had a good time exploring Prescott with my family, but I would like to go back as an adult.

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
