6 More Things to Do in Arizona in the Fall

Last year, I published a post about eight things to do in Arizona during the fall. You can read that post here. This year, I decided to write another post about more things to do in Arizona. Fall is the season Arizona wakes up after a summer hibernation due to the heat, so there are a lot of things to do during the season!

For this post, I decided to focus on events and activities that would happen during the month I didn’t mention in my previous post.

Attend an Oktoberfest Event

Arizona has multiple festivals that celebrate Oktoberfest. If you want to celebrate Oktoberfest in Arizona, there are plenty of options. The biggest ones are in The Valley, but there are smaller ones in the state.

Visit a Haunted House (Or Attend Old Tucson’s Nightfall)

If you are a fan of haunted houses, visiting ones in Arizona is a must during the Halloween season. Arizona has some notable haunted houses. Arizona is also the home of Old Tucson, a film set that holds an annual Halloween celebration called Nightfall. Nightfall has haunted houses, scare zones, and shows all in the area where notable Western movies and TV shows were filmed.

Attend a Veterans Day Parade

Attending a Veterans Day parade is something not everybody does, but it is a special thing to do in the fall. Every November, Phoenix holds their annual Veterans Day Parade. It is a large parade and features many local entires in the parade, including local marching bands. If you want to see a large Veterans Day parade, I highly recommend attending this one!

Celebrate the Day of the Dead

Arizona has a large Mexican-American population, which makes Mexican holidays more special and popular than in other parts of the United States. One of these holidays is the Day of the Dead, or Die de los Muertos. This holiday is normally celebrated on November 1st (As well as other days around November 1st). It is a holiday when family and friends gather to pay their respects to loved ones who have died. In Arizona, there are festivals and parades that celebrate the holiday. One of the celebrations I remember the most is held in Tucson. It is called the Tucson All Souls Procession. The celebration includes a parade and performances.

Wilcox Wine Festival

I’m not a wine drinker (Or a drinker of alcohol at all) but I know there are many that are. If you are, then you might enjoy the Wilcox Wine Festival! The festival is held ever fall (October is the month when it is normally held in) and is a perfect chance to drink wine from many wineries in the Wilcox, Arizona area.

Off Roading Tours

Off roading tours are available all year round in Arizona, but it seems to be more popular in fall… and I can see why! Taking an off road tour is a great chance to see a rural area up close. They are available all over the state but the ones that are perfect for fall are ones located in the mountains or at the base of the mountains.

That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
