It’s been a few months since I wrote a post dedicated to the books I read in the previous month. I didn’t have the time to read a lot these past few months. (Working too much and too many other things happening in my life) Even though I didn’t read as much as I planed, I was able to read. That was when I realized I didn’t actually like all the books I read!

For this post, I’m going to talk about the boos I actually like. There’s only one, but the one I like is the one I didn’t know I would like. I also haven’t finished reading the book because how busy I have been. Still, out of all the books I read the past few months, I like this book the most and want to talk about it.

The Amish Spinster’s Dilemma by Jocelyn McClay

This book surprised me a lot! It is a part of Harlequin’s Love Inspired romance novels and, as the name suggests, is about an Amish spinster and a dilemma she has. It was highly recommended to me by one of my friends. I was skeptic at first, but after seeing the stock of the book at my local Walmart rapidly dwindle, I decided to purchase it and read it.

I’m over halfway through and I can honestly say I really like it. It is well written and, even though it may not be considered as well researched as other well known Amish writers, it isn’t anywhere near as accurate as other books inspired by the Amish and their lifestyle. I really like the story a lot and love the way the characters are written. I also like the dilemma the spinster, Emma, in question has. Her widowed neighbor needs help raise his granddaughter after her mother, his daughter, passed away. The dilemma is if she can do it without falling in love with him, and him with her.

This story is super cute, clean, and really enjoyable. I don’t normally like Harlequin romance novels, but this one is really good. It has depth and I like how the characters have grown throughout the story. I’m also glad I had the chance to read it during a really stressful time! It was a really nice and enjoyable stress relief during a time when I needed it!
