Recently, I went to Ulta Beauty to see Ariana Grande’s new fragrance, R.E.M. I saw it for the first time on Ulta’s website. After reading the website’s fragrance notes, I knew I wanted to try it. It took a few months before I could go to Ulta and see and smell the fragrance in person, but I did and I’m glad I did!
The Ulta Beauty location I went to has a display dedicated to R.E.M. It is located in a corner of the store in the fragrance section, but I think it could be located in other areas of other Ulta Beauty stores.
I really like the design of the advertisement. It reminds me of her costume and artistic style of the music video for Ariana and Zedd’s song Break Free.
The display had a test bottle, three sizes of the fragrance, and travel spray size of the fragrance…
The fragrance itself looks like this…
I really love the way the bottle looks. It’s so beautiful and fits into the theme of the packaging and in store advertisement. I believe the bottle can be taken out of the crystal holder, but I decided not to pull it out. Since there is so much concern about touching things and spreading illnesses, I wanted to be cautious and not touch the bottle any more than I already did to test spray the fragrance.
After trying the fragrance, my first impression is I love it. It is feminine, but different than her other fragrances. The fragrance family is floral, the scent type is woody musk, and the scent notes are…
- Top – quince, fig, salted caramel, marshmallow
- Middle – pear blossom, lavender blossom
- Base – tonka bean, white musk, sandalwood
Although I love tonka beans as base notes, I don’t like white musk in my fragrances. I find they can be overpowering on my skin and don’t always smell really good on me. Despite this, I want to try it again before I buy a bottle of it. Since I don’t like white musk in my fragrances, I plan on buying the travel size bottle before I commit to buying a whole bottle.
Before I end this post, this is the sign describing R.E.M. and the fragrance notes as well as the prices for each size.
Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
