Hi there everyone! It’s been a few weeks since I published a post on my blogs. (This one and Essie of Who) Since it has been so long since I published posts on here or posted much online, I wanted to sit down and talk about why I’m taking a break from blogging.
Right now, I’m struggling with serious burnout. It was impacting me for the past few years, but it got increasingly worse since late August 2025. I thought pushing through the burnout would help, but it didn’t. That’s why I decided, starting in May, I would cut back on publishing posts until June, which is when I wouldn’t post at all.
As I write this post, I am feeling and doing better. I feel happier and more creative without needing to constantly write posts for my two blogs. I was even able to focus on other important things in my life, mostly dealing with caring for an older relative of mine and taking care of my own health. Even though I’m doing better, I still want to take more time off blogging to give me more time to relax and focus on offline life and my relative’s and my own health.
In addition to blogging less, I also wanted to mention that I have reduced/turned off ads on my two blogs. I became really annoyed by their placements on my posts, so, after a lot of thought, I decided to turn them off until I figured out what to do. I am not sure if I want to turn them back on because I really like the reduction of pressure to constantly publish posts to keep ads on my blogs. I would rather focus on turning my blogs into portfolios and to blog for the enjoyment of sharing what I create or want to write about. To me, this means I need to focus on quality posts and content, not quantity to appease the ad algorithms.
I don’t know if there will be other changes I need to make to my social media, but that’s all I feel comfortable doing right now.
Finally, before I end this post, I wanted to wish everyone an early happy 4th of July! I’m currently not planning on doing a lot to celebrate (Except eat steak that I purchased on sale a while ago and maybe some ice cream) but I’m open to changing my plans if my friends invite me to do something! I hope your 4th of July will be really fun, safe, and full of happy memories!
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
