5 Places I Want to Celebrate New Year’s Eve At

It’s almost New Year’s Eve! Even though I have plans this year, (Which is staying at home and wait for midnight) there are places I would love to spend New Year’s Eve. For years, I had a bucket list of places I would like to spend certain holidays at. Since I formed the list, I knew five places would be my ideal place to spend New Year’s Eve. Even though I’m not going to do much this year, I do hope I will get to visit at least one of these places for New Year’s Eve.

New York City, New York

New York City is once of the top places people would like to spend New Year’s Eve at. For me, it was always an ideal place to visit for New Year’s Eve. It is the second most likely obtainable and practical locations for me to spend New Year’s Eve. When I was a girl, I used to want to watch the ball drop in Times Square and possibly go to a party. Now that I’m an adult, watching the ball drop from a different part of the city, away from the crowds in Times Square, is more appealing to me. Also, I have no idea if I would actually like attending a party there!

Even though reality didn’t match with my childhood ideas, I still would like to spend New Year’s Eve in New York City. I’d just do different things there than I thought I would!

London, England

London is a place I wanted to visit no matter if there is a holiday or not. Today, London is one of the major places I want to spend New Year’s Eve not only because of the firework displays, but also for the New Year’s Day! Every New Year’s Day, there is a New Year’s Day parade. I watch it on TV, but I really want to see it in person.

Sidney, Australia

Sidney is a place I also want to visit no matter if it’s a holiday or not. Since it is located on a different hemisphere, Christmas and New Year’s Eve and Day are in their summertime. This would make a fun change of pace compared to the winters and colder temperatures at all the other places I want to visit. Also, I want to see the firework display at the Sidney Opera House. Ever since I saw the firework display for New Year’s Eve 2000, I wanted to see one display in person.

Disneyland or Walt Disney World

Out of all the places on this list, Disneyland or Walt Disney World are the places I will mostly like check off the fastest. The reason is because I live across the state line with California, so visiting Disneyland on New Year’s Eve would be an expensive road trip for me. Still, it would a road trip away. If I want to be spend more money, I could go to Walt Disney World.

Anyway, their firework displays are amazing. (At least what they look like on YouTube) Also, I want to visit the park during the holiday season. So, I’ll get to see the Christmas decorations when the crowds should be calmer (If I go before the big New Year’s Eve rush) and before they are taken down for the season!

Tokyo, Japan

The last place I would like to celebrate New Year’s Eve is Tokyo. Aside from having the opportunity to celebrate the new year in one of the first places to celebrate, there is something I would like to do on New Year’s Day: Buy a fukubukuro! Also known in English as Lucky Bags and Lucky Packs, fukubukuro are grab bags with merchandise that costs more separately than what the bag costs. They are available on New Year’s Day and sometimes feature merchandise that are exclusive to that year’s bag. Many stores offer them, but the ones I’d like to buy are from popular stores many people on social media buy fukubukuros from. They include the Pokemon Store, Disney Store, Sanrio Store, and others. I would also like to see if I can buy fukubukuros from higher end stores such as Ralph Lauren, Kate Spade New York, and Michale Kors.

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
